About

What is Art to me?

For me, art is about creating warmth and evoking feeling – capturing the essence of a moment that holds meaning for someone. A painting can preserve a memory in a way that feels more personal and lasting than a snapshot ever could.

Art is also a way to share my passion with my family and those around me. Architecture, structural forms, and people all leave impressions that shape our memories, and translating these into art has become a joy and a pastime that requires no technology – just imagination and the freedom to express.

What is my Style?

Artists often talk about “style,” but returning to art after 25 years has shown me something different. For me, creativity doesn’t follow rules – there’s no right or wrong way to make art. It’s about curiosity, play, and simple family joy.

My intention is to stay connected to the things that matter most to me and let those guide the work. I don’t claim to have a defined style; instead, I enjoy seeing what naturally emerges with each new piece. Every painting is an exploration – of colour, texture, technique, and whatever inspires me in that moment.

How art allows me to escape!

As a designer, I’ve spent years creating beautiful spaces for others to work, live and retreat into. But in the process of building artist havens for clients, I realised I needed to reclaim my own.
My garden studio has had many lives – first a home office, then a playroom for my children, and now a shared creative sanctuary. It’s the place where our family instinctively gathers to make, experiment, and simply be.

Making time is always the hardest challenge, but when I do, this space rewards me endlessly. Music drifts through the room, games spill across the tables, and there’s always something being sketched, painted or imagined. Here, time slows down, creativity takes over, and art becomes my escape.
